Barbara offers thoughtful, personalized sessions for pregnancy, newborns, children and their families. She also enjoys creating exciting high school senior portraits and sharing the joy of photographing a couple’s wedding day. On Location: Barbara’s favorite way to photograph families in on location. This means she loves to work at outdoor locations across the Northwest and willingly travels to your home for pregnancy and newborn sessions. Meeting you in your home helps alleviate the stress of packing up yourself and your new little one…just relax in your own familiar surroundings and let Barbara bring the studio to you! Older children LOVE to be outdoors, which makes this option so appealing. Sitting still and posing may not be their favorite thing, but when you have the great outdoors to explore, their personalities shine through and together we can capture them at their best and happiest. In Studio: Barbara offers a studio option for pregnancy, newborns and smaller children. This option offers privacy for moms-to-be and a warm, cozy environment for new babies and their older siblings. A Day at the Beach: Every summer, Barbara offers a fun beach weekend to families looking for adventure, blue sky, warm sand, wild waves & tide pools. YES, it’s all available at Arcadia Beach on the Oregon coast, just 3 miles South of Cannon Beach. Sharing the Love: Along with life’s happy & joyous times, sadness and grieving can enter in. Barbara offers free sessions for those grieving the loss of a new baby, or who have a terminally ill child. She will come to the hospital to photograph you with your precious little one in a sensitive and non-intrusive way, or create a beautiful family session for those expecting & grieving the eventual loss of a child. A Personal Note on Barbara’s Approach: As a mother, a family photo historian and a photographer, I believe that every child has a special story to tell. Sometimes they use spoken words, but often they communicate with a look, a smile, a tear or a tilt of the head. Those are the best times; when your heart drops to your toes each time you see your own child’s sweet face. After all, every age is the perfect age! Childhood is precious and sacred and I am blessed to form bonds with my families and melt their hearts by capturing the unique expressions of their children. I strive for natural and unique shots during my portrait sessions that let kids be kids! There is always plenty of time for playing, laughing, snacks and lounging in the grass. There are bare feet, goofy smiles, trees to climb and water to play in. I love to work in natural light, either in your home, backyard or other outdoor location. My style puts kids at ease and with all of nature to explore I am able to catch candid moments as well as gently posed shots for each session. I look forward to meeting with you and your little ones.
