Barbara Erskine is a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist and certified Orofacial Myologist who has been in private practice in the Vancouver and Portland area for over 25 years.  Her philosophy is to treat the whole child and not just the symptom.  Parent training is a key to the success of any speech therapy program.  By working closely with families, schools, and doctors, Barbara develops an effective and customized program that leads to success.

Barbara motivates her clients by providing fun speech, language, and oral motor games that help preschool, school aged and teen clients with a variety of communication challenges.  Her unique approach refelcts her study of sensory motor disorders and neurodevelpment.  Barbara works with local dentists and orthodontists to treat myofunctional (tongue thrust, thumb habits) disorders.  She and colleague Brenda Hiegel M.S. CCC Speech-Language Pathologist, have created highly successful Social Thinking programs ( Social Skill Solutions) to help students with Autism, Asperger's Syndrome and learning challenges develop friendship skills.
